Greetings from Denver! Advancement Project staff was proud to witness an amazing annual accountability meeting this morning led by Padres y Jovenes Unidos youth and attended by high level DPS senior officials, including Superintendent Tom Boasberg. About 100 attendees from several different schools and made up of students, parents, teachers, administrators, and various allies from throughout Denver (such as from the juvenile justice community, the university research community, and the civil rights community).
The youth shared personal testimony, presented analysis of this year’s data, and demanded concrete solutions, which Superintendent Boasberg supported.

- Accountability meetings with police and the district
- School by school data on racial disparities
- Process for purging of or petitioning disciplinary records (partly agree, needs more information to fully commit)
The young people all spoke with passion and conviction. Building the future leaders of tomorrow...
